May 6, 2012 Project Class

We will be creating a 1 page scrapbook page which is my interpretation of a design by Becca Rees at Monkey Doodle and my own creation for a view master card.  Updated on 3/18/2012 to add some pictures for the view master card.  As you turn the wheel, the picture changes - there are 4 different inserts.  Hope we have good attendance for this class, since I think it will be quite fun to create this card and page.  Stay well everyone!!!

March 4, 2012 Project Class

It is hard to believe, but I actually have created the 1 page layout for the March 4 Monthly Project class.  The design layout is from Joy at Obsessed with Scrapbooking.  My color pallet was shades of green in honor of St. Paddy's day and a few other references, to be sure.  All the patterned papers were from the DCWV Lemon Flower Stack.  Winter has hit today, so what better activity than to scrap the afternoon away.  Hope you like this project.  There will be a card too.  Stay well everyone.

Updated on Feb 10, to add the double fold card project.  Per student request, I will send out the mat cut sizes prior to class so students can prepare, if desired, ahead of time.  Looking forward to seeing everyone in store or in class.  Fingers crossed for an early spring.

Updated on March 4, it was a really fun class today.  So nice to see everyone's creative interpretations of the layout and card style.  Looking forward to seeing everyone in store or the next project or other Cricut class.  Thank you for the opportunity to teach!!!

Dec 4 or Dec 6 2011 Monthly Project

Hey, everyone, hope your plans for Thanksgiving and the holidays are going well.  I am going to post the projects for the Dec 4 or Dec 6 Monthly Project class.  The glass etching was included as a result of a special request, so if you have some project/technique you would like covered in a project class just let me know and I will try to add it to a future class.  In December we are doing a 1 page scrapbook page, an etched glass project, and a card.  Our featured techniques are vinyl templates and embossed cricut images to add more dimension to your projects.  Well stay well everyone and have an awesome Thanksgiving.

November 1 or 6, 2011 Project Class

Hi everyone.  Today is an awesome day.  Beautiful sunshine, low humidity and perfect for outdoor activities.  I want to post pictures for the Nov. 1 or Nov. 6 Cricut Monthly Project class. The actual samples will be on display at the Oct 8 Open House at the store.  As always, feel free to change the color selections or images.  It is so much fun to see what you all create.  I was given a request to create a banner for the November class, which is shown at the top of this post.  I did embellish it with pleated rosettes and a punched edge border to each banner.

Some of you may not have the cartridges I used to create these projects - no worries - the pennant shape (I used sophisticated) can be create with your trimmer, the circle (I used accent essentials) and font (I used lyrical letters) can be from any cartridge in your cartridge inventory where these shapes are available. During the October class there were some who were working on layering and using their machine without a peripheral device (Gypsy).  I think it was a great opportunity to learn all sorts of techniques and options for your machine.  Also some students have requested the classes have the projects as optional and use the class time to focus on their own projects and seek assistance to become better at using their Cricut accessories such as Design Studio or Gypsy.   If you would prefer to work on your own project this is totally fine.  Also if you have something you would like to have covered in a future class just let me know I will try to make it happen.   Finally I am moving the date of the classes to Sunday afternoon per student request.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day and looking forward to seeing you soon.
