Dec 4 or Dec 6 2011 Monthly Project

Hey, everyone, hope your plans for Thanksgiving and the holidays are going well.  I am going to post the projects for the Dec 4 or Dec 6 Monthly Project class.  The glass etching was included as a result of a special request, so if you have some project/technique you would like covered in a project class just let me know and I will try to add it to a future class.  In December we are doing a 1 page scrapbook page, an etched glass project, and a card.  Our featured techniques are vinyl templates and embossed cricut images to add more dimension to your projects.  Well stay well everyone and have an awesome Thanksgiving.

November 1 or 6, 2011 Project Class

Hi everyone.  Today is an awesome day.  Beautiful sunshine, low humidity and perfect for outdoor activities.  I want to post pictures for the Nov. 1 or Nov. 6 Cricut Monthly Project class. The actual samples will be on display at the Oct 8 Open House at the store.  As always, feel free to change the color selections or images.  It is so much fun to see what you all create.  I was given a request to create a banner for the November class, which is shown at the top of this post.  I did embellish it with pleated rosettes and a punched edge border to each banner.

Some of you may not have the cartridges I used to create these projects - no worries - the pennant shape (I used sophisticated) can be create with your trimmer, the circle (I used accent essentials) and font (I used lyrical letters) can be from any cartridge in your cartridge inventory where these shapes are available. During the October class there were some who were working on layering and using their machine without a peripheral device (Gypsy).  I think it was a great opportunity to learn all sorts of techniques and options for your machine.  Also some students have requested the classes have the projects as optional and use the class time to focus on their own projects and seek assistance to become better at using their Cricut accessories such as Design Studio or Gypsy.   If you would prefer to work on your own project this is totally fine.  Also if you have something you would like to have covered in a future class just let me know I will try to make it happen.   Finally I am moving the date of the classes to Sunday afternoon per student request.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day and looking forward to seeing you soon.

October 2011 Projects

It looks like we will have sufficient students for our October class.  I am posting the project pictures and the original projects are posted in the store.  The layout is my interpretation of a Me and My Big Ideas project layout.  The card is my design entirely.

September 2011 project

Unfortunately we had insufficient students to hold the September class.  I repeated the sun flower vase and then created my interpretation of a Me and My Big Ideas Project layout.

August 2011 project

I repeated the August 2010 project plus added a vinyl template Yudu screened image on a bag.

July project update

Well with the update of Blogger I am now able to post again.  I will try to publish the pictures for the July 2011 projects now too.  As you can see I added jewelry elements to the layout.  This is a very fun cartridge.

June 7 Monthly Project Class

Can you believe it is time to be planning the June class? Whoa.. Well, we will have at least a Father's Day card and perhaps a guy's birthday card or 2 providing all cards can be completed during class. I was thinking it would be fun to create a pop up type card for at least 1 of the cards. What do you think? There is a new seasonal Fathers Day cart but I haven't seen it at the store yet. Ideas are beginning to formulate so stay tuned.

Update as of 5/11/2011:
The projects are created and posted in the store. We are making a 1pg Father layout plus and Father's Day card using the following carts: Designer Calendar, "Just Because" Cards, Storybook and your favorite Font cartridge - I used Hannah Montana. I will also offer a BONUS project - a pop up card. It's all about the boys this month. Hope you like these projects. I am posting a sneak peak of the pop up BONUS card. Look forward to seeing you in store or in class.

Update as of 9/17/2011:

Since I can now update blogger I will post the project pictures.  Unfortunately we did not have sufficient students to run this class.

May 2011 project thoughts

Hurray we have sunshine! I was thinking that for May we would make a Mom's day card and single page layout which can go in a picture frame. It is my intention we will be able to complete the project(s) in class. I will keep you updated as the projects take shape.

Updated as of 3/22/2011:
Ok, all the projects are done for the May 3rd class. I used the following carts: Mothers Day (2010 seasonal), Create a Critter, Storybook, and Accent Essentials. While the cart list is long -- I only made a few cuts from some of them - Accent Essentials and Mothers Day. We will be making those cool 3D flowers to embellish our picture frame and learn how to center our printed message within a cricut cut. I hope you like these projects. As in the April class, it is my intention that everyone can finish these projects during the 2.5 hr class time. Also, if you sign up on April 9, the Cricut classes will be 50% off! Hope everyone is healthy and enjoying the arrival of spring.

Updated as of 5/11/2011:

Finally able to post the project pictures, -- apparently IE9 doesn't play nice with Blogger so I had to rollback IE to be able to post again. Anyway, it was a very fun class. It was great to hear everyone's current projects - wedding reheasal invites, school bulletin boards, photo organization, etc. I believe everyone completed all their Cricut cuts and created their 3D flowers. Next month we will learn how to cut shrink film and make our own clocks. Hope you are having a great day!!

April 2011 Upcoming Project

Just wanted to give you the latest plans for the April 5 Cricut Monthly Project class. There will a 2 page layout and my hope is everyone can leave with a finished project. I know, I know this is something new for me. We will be using the following cartridges: Everyday Paperdolls, Designer Calendar, and Storybook. As requested by previous students, I am repeating some of the cartridges used in prior classes. Most of the paper I am using for the 2 page layout is from K & Co Super Paper Pad, which has 360 sheets with a wide range of colors and patterns. I hope this is helpful in your future planning. I did have the layout available for viewing at the March 1 Cricut Project class. The project sample will be on display during the March 12 Open House at the store. Also, the Cricut classes will be 50% off the class fees on March 12 and April 9. Looking forward to seeing you in class or store. Stay well everyone.

Update: April 14, 2011

The project pictures are now up! I used my new Nikon S6000 and successfully transferred pics to my new laptop with Windows 7. Ok I have been behind times with my OS, and still haven't graduated to a Digital SLR, but I am moving in the right direction. There are 2 views of this layout, one background was made with the K & Co Super Pad and the polka dot was with open stock paper from the store. It was a fun class and I think everyone finished their layout cuts. Looking forward to seeing everyone in store or in class. Hope you are all enjoying this spring. The weather here is finally in the 50s.

March 2011 Cricut Project

Here are the cards from the March 1 Cricut Monthly Project workshop. Starting at the top of this post, there is a double fold bunny card, a wiper leprechan card, a slider monkey card, a pocket baby chick card, and finally an easel bee card. As always the class content is overfull which means some of the cards will need to be completed at home. So, for the April 5 monthly project class there will be a 2 page layout which I think everyone can finish during the 2.5 hr. class. I will have Gypsy instructions available for those who wish to their Gyspy for the project. Hope you are able to join us. Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday! I really enjoyed seeing your projects and hearing all your Cricut crafting adventures.

February 2011 Project

Shown above are the projects we made during the February 2011 Cricut Monthly Project class. The vinyl clings are those items on the vase. Class favorite was the gift tag and holder, which are the pictures at the top of this post, and definitely fun to make! For those who were unable to attend the makeup class I hope you are able to join on future sessions. I am providing Gypsy instructions for those interested in completing their projects using their Gypsy. Looking forward to seeing you in store or in class. Next project class is March 1.
